Singers Lady Gaga and Celine Dion will perform the classic song ‘La Vie en Rose’ at the opening ceremony of the Olympics in Paris on July 26.
Deadline also reported on Wednesday that French journalist Thierry Moreau had just revealed the performance of the two female singers on X (Twitter).
Celine Dion will wear Dior and a pink and black feathered cape, according to Thierry Moreau. This will be the My Heart Will Go On singer’s first performance since she canceled her 2021 tour to undergo medical treatment. Celine suffers from stiff person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that causes severe muscle spasms, affecting her vocal cords and ability to walk. In the documentary I Am: Celine Dion released in June, Celine said she had always wanted to return to the stage and had been training hard to make that dream come true.
Previously, a source told TMZ that Celine Dion was invited to perform at the Olympics for a salary of two million USD. In 1996, the Canadian diva performed the song The Power of the Dream at the opening ceremony of the Atlanta Olympics (USA).
Earlier this week, Lady Gaga and Celine Dion were spotted in Paris together. The Born This Way singer was photographed standing next to a car waving and blowing kisses to fans on Monday. Fans also posted photos of Gaga standing next to a piano on a floating platform in the Seine. Meanwhile, Celine Dion appeared outside a hotel on Tuesday, mingling , taking pictures and signing autographs with fans in the city of lights.
In addition to Lady Gaga and Celine Dion , other artists expected to perform at the opening ceremony include Dua Lipa, Ariana Grande and French singer Aya Nakamura.
